Through the Society’s STEM Outreach Programs, we seek to ensure that any student can become a scientist or engineer if that’s what they want to do.

Every Young Person Can Become a Scientist or Engineer

Society for Science is committed to expanding access to high-quality STEM education for all students. Increasing STEM literacy empowers students with the critical thinking and decision-making skills necessary to live healthy, civically engaged and economically productive lives. The Society was founded on the belief that science literacy is essential to a well-functioning society – that fact holds true now more than ever.

Scientific Literacy

Through Science News Learning, the Society is expanding student science literacy across the U.S. by supporting a community of nearly 6,000 middle and high schools and more than 17,000 educators with equitable access to Science News Media Group’s award-winning print and online journalism.

Research Competitions

The Society for Science offers three incredible competitions for student researchers: the Regeneron Science Talent Search, the Regeneron International Science & Engineering Fair, and the Thermo Fisher Scientific Junior Innovators Challenge. At Regeneron ISEF, we also host local schools for Intel Education Outreach Day, inspiring more students to engage their scientific curiosity.

Teacher Support

Our all-expenses-paid research teacher conferences, grant programs, mentorship programs, and online courses support teachers in ensuring their students have access to authentic research opportunities.
